BEL Signs are seeking an experienced Signage Designer and Estimator to join our team in Horsham (RH13 5QR). Industry experience is essential — applicants without relevant signage experience will not be considered.

You’ll work closely with our Director, Production Manager and in‑house Artworker, contributing to both the creative and commercial sides of our projects. This role suits someone who is organised, technically confident, and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Project Management

• Work with a wide range of clients to understand requirements and project goals
• Advise on materials, lighting, fabrication methods and signage techniques
• Prioritise incoming enquiries and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Handle customer enquiries by phone, email and in person
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and third parties.

Estimating & Job Costing

• Prepare accurate quotations for bespoke signage projects of all sizes
• Calculate labour, materials and production costs
• Process quotes promptly and maintain accurate job costing
• Raise job sheets, purchase orders and delivery notes
• Support the production team with scheduling, planning and project delivery.

Design & Artwork Production

• Create designs for a wide range of signage including engraving, health & safety, exhibition displays and vehicle graphics
• Amend proofs and prepare final artwork
• Produce print‑ready PDFs, cut files and production‑ready artwork
• Work closely with customers to ensure artwork accuracy and approval
• Liaise with production to ensure files are correct and ready for manufacture.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within the signage industry (design, estimating or sign making)
• Strong technical knowledge of signage materials and production methods
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational, multi‑tasking and time‑management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good numeracy and budgeting skills
• Professional, polite and customer‑focused
• Computer literate with good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (PC) InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.

Pay dependent on experience, starting salary from £30k pa. This is a permanent position.
