Chapter 8 has this name from the Traffic Signs Manual issued by the Department for Transport. It requires any vehicle working or stopping on a high-speed road to have High Visibility Markings or reflective vinyl on the rear of the vehicle.
Any vehicle on the highways
From cars, vans, gritters, sweepers, and tippers any vehicle stopping on the roadside needs Chapter 8 applied to the rear to work and stop safely on the roadside. Chapter 8 can be adapted to suit any vehicle, with space for badges, windows, handles, lights and number plates, ensuring as much of the area is covered.
Ensure you are complying with UK standards
High visibility vinyl is applied to the area in a chevron in a yellow and red pattern. This reflective material is specified as being Class R3B, compliant with standards for UK roads and vehicles and government guidelines. We will supply and install this type of Chapter 8. Our design department has outlines of the majority of vehicles, so we can find a pattern to fit your vehicle.
They say; be safe, be seen and Chapter 8 is exactly designed to fulfil this, making you more visible regardless of light conditions or speed. The reflective nature of the pattern will shine when lit and chevrons are used as a universal shape for slowing down and as a warning. The Health & Safety Act at work also requires all employers to establish and maintain safe systems of work and helps with best practices.
In addition to fitting Chapter 8 kits, we can also design, manufacture and install creative solutions for the sides and front of your vehicle. These can range from simple CAD cut vinyl details and contact details to partial wraps and digital prints with full-colour graphics to make it a real head-turner.
