Getting your business noticed – Van Graphics Horsham

We all notice the Sky TV vans driving around with large images of great TV shows and movies covering the whole van. It’s the same with our home deliveries, images of your shopping or slices of onion or orange covering a van. Not only do they attract attention, they add as a reminder of that brand. Van signwriting, van graphics, van decals, and van wraps all make a plain business vehicle into something that advertises and can be seen to literally drive business.

Van graphics to suit any budget

There are different options to sign write your vehicle. The best way to get your business ideas onto your vehicle, whether van, car, trailer, Luton, pick-up, etc. is to let us know your budget. A large-format printed image wrapped onto the side can cost thousands, but a simple CAD-cut design with text can be as little as £150+VAT depending on the design and size of your van. However, on average, the cost of signwriting a van such as a FORD transit is around £350+VAT. By letting us know your estimated budget we can give you a range of options, these could include partially wrapping a panel area, adding a back door wrap with an image rather than all of the van, adding special vinyl colours and materials such as reflective. Our design team has a catalogue of outlines that allows us to offer you designs shown specifically on your vehicle, so you have got a feel for the design.

Recent Vehicle Signage

Van decals and signage are some of our most popular services. Here are some recent projects for local Sussex based businesses:

Design A Loft | Ford Transit Custom
A great case study showing that just a few colours of CAD cut vinyl can be used to recreate your logo along with essential business details.

Assured Aviation | Citroen Berlingo Van
Matching closely to their brand logo colours, a grey and blue vinyl where used to create these curved shapes on both sides and onto the rear, mirroring the logo and adding a large design element.

Spot On Oven Cleaning | Citroen Berlingo L2 with rear windows
This van for a local Oven Cleaning Company based in Broadbridge Heath is a great example of a design that fills the panels with a printed visual. The Spot on Oven Cleaning logo had to be printed as it has a 3D effect that cannot be replicated by cutting it from vinyl, but this makes a lot of impact with the panels in black and text in bold.

Direct Security Partnership | Ford Fiesta Car

Local business neighbour, Direct Security Partnership are based also on Blatchford Road, and this may look like a printed wrap, but it is actually made up of vinyl. The main red and white pieces of vinyl have been put onto the sides and text added. A real outstanding effect.

Types of Van Signage

  • Basic van graphics for Countryside Handyman
  • Long Wheel Based vans with Fleet Graphics
  • CAD Cut graphics are elements of design, such as lettering, cut from large rolls of vinyl. These can be used to make simple graphics or laid up with many other pieces and colours to create a design like a jigsaw. This is often the most common and cost-effective way to sign write a vehicle. This specialist type of vinyl can last for five to seven years if treated well and cleaned correctly.
  • Print and Cut allows our large format printers to produce full-colour images, these might be your logo or photos. We can then cut around specific edges to create designs that are shaped. These are printed and laminated, again on specialist material, which is applied to the surface of the vehicle by our trained team.
  • Panel Wraps are a great way to use the flat areas on a van, they can be ‘flooded’ with an image or colour, which means they fill up the edges of that panel. Obviously at the right height for readability and a simple way to use the ‘canvas’ of a van.
  • Wrapping, although expensive, can be used to great effect, as you don’t have to wrap the whole vehicle. Sometimes a partial wrap will add a head-turning amount of colour to make a van or car half a colour. Make the wrap at a slight angle or within a shape and you can have a very striking design. Wraps can also be used in one area of the vehicle, such as the back doors, to give impact to waiting traffic and in car parks.

Your business brand onto a van

It’s easy to get your vehicle sign written, simply get in touch with these details and we can get some ideas over to you:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Year
  • Loading doors, rear windows, or panels
Any customisation which makes it different from a standard model
  • Colour
  • Provide us with your logo
Ideally, a vector, eps, ai, or pdf file, but can also accept jpeg
  • Any details you would like on the van:
How to contact you, phone, web, email
Around five bullet points of services you offer
Social media channels your business is on
Accreditations or Business links, such as Check-a-Trade or Yell
  • Your budget

You can find a step-by-step guide on our blog, but once we have ideas for you and your chosen design and budget is approved we have the van booked in. It can take a day to get it applied and ready, so you will need to be able to leave it with us and re-arrange any work that day. We will also need it cleaned – don’t use anything but water though!
More examples of our van signage can be found on the Vehicle Graphic page in addition to Fleet Graphics and Lutons.

Our sister company AppliedFX has a great range of winter jackets, sweatshirts and beanies to keep you warm this winter, see the full details here >>

Drainflow Fleet Graphics

Drainflow Solutions Ltd | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter MWB HiRoof van, VW Crafter MWB HiRoof, VW Transporter

Horsham based drainage and block drains specialist, Drainflow Solutions, came to us needing updated graphics and three vans adding to their fleet. Two were medium wheelbases, we were able to design an updated logo in a simple two colour vinyl design which features on all sides. Often working on the roadside, a Chapter 8 kit was added to the rear of the Merc Sprinter. Both have the various accreditation logos printed and added to the sides.

Hancocks Garden Services | Peugeot Partner

Friendly Horsham based gardener, Hancocks Garden Services wanted a simple design but something with a little impact, by wrapping the side panels in a bright green similar to the one on their website, you can allow a bigger space for details and grab attention. Basic shapes can stand out, making the text and details easy to read, especially on this Peugeot Partner van.

Van Graphics for Horsham Businesses

Cannon Plumbing & Heating | Ford Transit Custom

Pulborough based Cannon Plumbing & Heating came to us as their usual signage supplier had ceased trading. They wanted their new van to match the fleet, so our design team recreated the flame logo and our production team digitally printed the large graphic to appear on all sides. Our installation team did a great job fitted the large flames onto all sides. A design that really works on the van and tells you exactly what services Cannon offer.

Ford Transit and Tipper graphics

L.J.Hebblethwaite Ltd | L3 H2 Ford Transit

“A Cracking Job” concluded Laurence Hebblethwaite, owner of L.J. Hebblethwaite, a family-run landscaping business based in Broadbridge Heath. A client who has been using our services for over 15 years, a testimony to our customer service and installation. The van graphics are a combination of CAD cut vinyl graphics and laminated digitally printed logos which appear on all sides.

Van wrap and rebrand

Woodstock IT | VW Caddy

With a recent rebrand came this VW caddy for local computer support company Woodstock IT, based in Faygate. It features the new mint colour as a vinyl wrap which closely matches the print colour. The wrap encompasses the rear doors and wheel arches on the sides. Working well with the white text and dark blue of the van itself it shouts about the new brand and company ethos in a very concise design.

We don’t just design, produce and install vehicle graphics onto vans, we can also cover cars, trailers, minibuses, grab trucks, 4x4s and Lutons amongst others. Big Projects of 2019

Our last month of 2019 was so busy we’ve not had a chance to catch up and look back over the amazing year we had… until now. Here is a quick rundown of some great projects we had the pleasure of working on in 2019.

Large format print for the Lord Mayors Show

An outstanding project and certainly one of the largest jobs of 2019 was the printing of panels and banners for the Girlguides float at the Lord Mayors Show. It was the Sussex Central county group of the Girlguides celebrating their 40th year that required a great deal of large format print for their lorry to be covered and to appear in the show.

Initially, we had printed small labels and recycle stickers for the Girlguides in the Horsham area so we were very pleased to sit down with the Horsham Division Commissioner who came into the office with a special request and showed us the plans for their float. We are no strangers ourselves to the Lord Mayors show in London, as some of the staff visit most years.

In total the project entailed:

  • Two digitally printed banners measuring over 13 metres long featuring the names of the various Girlguide groups in the region.
  • Two large printed banners for the end and roof of the float which were over 2.5 metres and featured logos and sponsors
  • 12 correx panels with printed images that were over 2metres in height and width which had large photography of the Girlguides and fitted on frames within the lorry, forming the float interior
  • Eight foamex printed panels featuring the Girlguiding badges as a 400mm diamond shape to dress the sides.

The float started to come together when the print was placed on frames and banners hung, it also had some great feedback on the day.

The Horsham Division Commissioner gave us this great review:

“A big thank you to BEL Signs. They couldn’t have been more helpful! They gave excellent advice as to how to minimise cost and maximise impact and quality and they waved all design and delivery costs. All this helped enormously for us to present Girlguiding professionally on an international stage along side some of the wealthiest City corporations without us looking at all out of place. I am also going to send a personal letter -I would give them a top rating for everything. Thank you.”

See the float on the day via the dedicated Girlguide page here >>
Also, the Lord Mayors website has some photos of the float being pieced together here >>

Working with Horsham FC

In the summer we were busy with the Hornets new home in South Horsham. It was back in 2018 when we announced our partnership with the Horsham Football Club and the support of their new stadium signage. Since the stadium has been built we have manufactured and installed over 70 perimeter advertising/hoardings boards on pitch side and in the training area. In addition to sponsor logos on stands and on the Clubhouse we have also printed pull-up banners, digitally printed wallpaper, external signage for wayfinding and internal signage for marketing. You can see more of our signage on the ground via our blog >> and on their official website >>

The Milky Way

In the autumn we produced and installed a really interesting project for Amplify Life on their grounds. The signage comprised of wayfinding and informative posts that featured the Amplify Life logo, some mandatory safety signs, CCTV signage and colour-coded arrows for those walking on footpaths and bridleways. Six signs comprised of Aluminium sign trays with printed long-life graphics that were then applied and fitted to green oak timber posts. We also installed the signs in and around the private grounds and parkland of the estate. The happy client also gave us a five-star review on Google.

Interior signage trends

A big trend last year was for interior signage and print that brightens up and brand spaces inside offices and retails. Feature walls, digital print, and simple but effective CAD cut vinyl can really change a space and create great talking points, making dull walls jump out and inspire. Some examples include:

  • Logos onto office walls as part of a rebranding phase, like these for Sensia in their corporate colours in CAD cut vinyl in reception areas
  • Large digitally print for stairwells, like these for local flooring business Supafit Carpets. Which were large 1.5m x 2.4m panels with printed lifestyle images and fitted to the showroom staircase walls
  • Door coverings are an interesting way to add images internally, with photography of winding pathways; steps and walkways in places around the world can catch your eye and change your workspace
  • Inspirational quotes and word clouds can also form décor, like these for a local mortgage business, impact. Brightly coloured vinyl on otherwise empty spaces.

Vehicle graphics, some unusual

A staple of our services, vehicle graphics, saw some fleet work for Wood & Wisdom, with both an L3H2 Mercedes Sprinter and short wheel base VW Transporter both signwritten in three vinyl colours including gold which looked great in the summer sun. Highlights also include printed graphics onto a Ford Tipper for NFP Forestry on all sides and continuing with tippers, more printed graphics onto an Isuzu tipper for SJM Landscapes.

Some slightly more unusual vehicle graphics projects came to us in 2019 including a Ford Mustang bonnet wrap for The Sussex Travel Company to appear in the AmeriCARna event. Featuring their logo and the American flag as a partial wrap the car featured in the rally and on the stand at the local Horsham event. We also installed some traditional style text to a Morris Minor for Berwicks of Horsham as a nod back to their many years of trading and has featured on their promotional stands and photography.

BEL Signs 2020

And the future? With ongoing fleet vehicle signwriting, exhibition graphics and shop signage to keep us busy we look forward to more signage for the new businesses setting up in 2020. Our van signwriting and business card offer can help get your new business branded, find out more about our offer here >>

Come rain or shine – we sign

It’s been a busy May running into June with many local events keeping us busy with banner printing and signage. Promotional items and large format printers are also in high demand as the two go hand-in-hand when exhibiting at a show, in addition, our vehicle graphic team has been inundated with work.

Events Banner

Local entertainment company Manic Mundays urgently required two printed banners for Horsham event Plum Jam, which saw them host singers and bands in the Carfax bandstand. Handily hung from the bandstand railings, the banners look great in promotional photography and obviously let all the audience know who is helping run the show, a must-have piece of promotional signage, all manufactured in-house here in our factory. Some kind words from Ms. Munday: “HUGE thank you to BEL Signs who printed our lovely banners. We would HIGHLY recommend their speedy and friendly services.”

General Signage

Parking issues to Health and Safety, our external signage expertise keeps us busy, designing, printing, manufacturing and often installing signage of all shapes and sizes. All bespoke, informative and on various materials ranging from correx to aluminum composite material.

Screen printed bags and Exhibition Graphics

Many exhibition shows and event evenings coming up requiring large format printed panels, exhibition pop up systems, banners and tables in addition to promotional items for hand-outs and advertising. Items like these screen-printed sports bags for JOLF to be handed out at junior golf events and large printed panels for Aero Healthcare exhibiting at Railworx this week. We’re happy to take some of the stress out of organizing your event, our team can show you a range of exhibition systems to suit your budget and scale of stand along with branded promotional items from pens to bags.

Why not head over to our sister company AppliedFX who can help you look the part in branded clothing whether your meeting potential clients at an event or at an exhibition, we have garments to suit you and your budget.

Ford Pickup graphics

Merc Sprinter Van Signwriting

Long-standing clients RJ Power Group and Wood & Wisdom have been in recently with a Ford Ranger Pick-up truck and Mercedes Sprinter Van. The Ford Pickup needed printed graphics coupled with CAD cut vinyl and a Chapter 8 kit on the rear, whilst the L3H2 Merc required three colours of vinyl applied to all sides. Reflective vehicle graphics are a must for working on the highway and branding your van is a must when parked on-site to drive more business.

SWB Van Signwriting

New business TL Glazing came to us seeking a logo graphic in addition to signwriting their van, a short wheeled based Fiat Ducato. Large printed graphics designed and fitted onto the panels and across the bonnet. It has an impact and is a head-turner on the road.

Minibus graphics for Horsham Boxing

Lastly, Horsham Boxing Club has been beating up some support with van graphics and a welcome banner. Their Ford Tourneo Custom MiniBus featured not only their logo but also some hanging boxing gloves on all sides. Turning up at a match and out on the road will definitely feel more upbeat being part of a club that wants to promote themselves and be seen.

If any of this has inspired you or reminded you to sort out your vehicle graphics, exhibition print or external signage, get in touch with the team here, we’re happy to help; email info@belsigns.com call 01403 255442 and find us here.

You might have seen something you like design wise already on the road, you can find our gallery of vehicles and vans, or view our popular blog. Our designers can also offer some suggestions to suit your business and the style of the van, ideally let us know your budget and we can design to suit. Keep in mind the contours of your van, panels, and the more coverage you would like equals more in the way of cost, which leads us onto…
  2. Quotation
Our Senior Estimator can help with an estimate of cost depending on seeing your logo, the details of the van and the ideas that you have. Email these details over:
  • Make
  • Model
  • Year
  • Loading doors and rear windows or panels, or any customisation which makes it different from a standard model
  • Colour
  • Provide us with your logo (ideally a vector, eps, ai or pdf file, but also jpeg)
  • Any details you would like on the van, usually contact details and around five bullet points of services you offer and any social media channels your business is on
  • Your budget
  1. Visuals / Proofing
Once you have approved the cost and our terms your details are passed onto the design and production team. Our in-house team has a catalogue of vehicle outlines, scaled; they allow us to design specifically to your year of vehicle and wheelbase. We can put together visual ideas for all sides of the van and allow for loading doors, ladders, trims etc. Simple ideas include one colour of vinyl with cut shapes usually including logo and text. More complex designs include printed graphics wrapped onto sides or within the panels of a van on all sides including the bonnet. We can also offer reflective vinyl, specialist colours, printed colours to match your brand in addition to Chapter 8 kits for highway vehicles.
We can change visuals to accommodate small amendments and work towards a final revision you are happy to approve. With everything checked and double checked we move onto…

Our production team will then offer some dates to get your van sign written as per design. We will need the vehicle at our factory in Blatchford Road [find us here] for the majority of the day, possibly two if the design is intricate. However, before dropping off the van, check that is clean! The vinyl, wrap or printed graphics need a good clean surface to adhere too, just soap and water will do.
  3. Signwriting your van
Our team of experts have a wealth of hours and knowledge sign writing vehicles, from cars, 4x4s, all types of van from short to long wheel base, luton vans and also even plant machinery. We ask the vehicle be left with us so we have everything to hand to apply the graphics. We can offer a stripping service if your van already has old graphics that need taking off, just ask about this service.
Most areas of a van can be covered, including windows. But we know you need to get back to work, so we will call to let you know it’s ready ASAP!Look after your graphics
  4. Taking care of your graphics / Cleaning
Once completed and settled up, your van is ready for getting onto the road and driving more business, however follow these simple guidelines and your van livery could stay on for years till your next van upgrade:
Use a mild detergent, clean water and soft brush or a fan spray of water more than 1200mm from livery edges. A maximum 75 bar water pressure and maximum water temperature of 38°C. If using a spray maintain angle greater than 45° to the vehicle and whatever you use to clean the van avoid lettering tips and corners and any obvious vulnerable areas.
Upload your shiny new sign written van to your social channels and tag us – we’re on Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | LinkedIn and leave us a review on our Google Business Page or Yell, we love seeing our work out and about.

The Vauxhall Combo is off to a good start as it’s pricing is cheaper than last year and can carry more than 1,000kg, claiming to have the greatest payload capacity in its sector, the newer engine is also said to be 16% more fuel-efficient. With 15 storage compartments tucked away, least you can hide your sweets along with your coffee.

Driving business with vehicle graphics

Here at BEL Signs some of our favourite signage is that of vehicle graphics. When a small business starts out, a local company grows or we meet a new client through a networking event they will often enquire as to whether they should get their vehicle sign written. The answer is always yes!

Imagine turning up on-site with your branded van or car knowing everyone would have seen it en-route, it’s cost effective advertising working for you on the driveway or on the job. Sign written vehicle livery provides your customer the confidence that they have booked a professional, trusted and established company. Team it up with printed business cards, quotation sheets, embroidered shirts and jackets – perhaps even printed freebies to leave with the customer to remind them whom to call. We offer all these services in addition to signage, banners, site boards all bespoke and suited to your needs.

Here’s a round up of our latest projects covering van graphics, car sign writing and also plant machinery… as anything with wheels can be covered, including an interesting project for HDC Year of Culture, but more about that in the new year!

Vindex Systems | Black Nissan NV200
Two colour CAD cut graphics including logo and contact details onto a brand new NV200 with double sided loading doors and rear doors with panels. Accreditations and awards were printed as a collection and fitted neatly as a group.

Kenward Groundworks | White Ford Transit Custom
Kenward logo has a subtle gradient of orange colour within it – meaning this has to be printed. This printed logo is then fitted together with text onto three sides. Not much in way of creative details, but when on-site you obviously know who is in charge.

On the road with Van Signwriting

Think about the amount of time you spend behind the wheel driving your van or business vehicle. Now add in the time the vehicle is on a driveway or perhaps parked on the road. If it is just a plain van you have missed an opportunity for free advertising.

Large businesses fully wrap their delivery vehicles in graphics, to remind customers of their brand, but also to evoke a feeling or prompt a purchase. Your vehicle could be doing the same.

Here at BEL Signs our team has the specialist knowledge to design, cut and print and then install your unique graphics onto your van.

We’ve been busy since the beginning of the year with a variation of designs being fitted onto different sizes and colours of vans. Here is a selection of the work we’ve completed to give you an idea of what is possible with any budget:

Vehicle Signwriting

Whatever your business, chances are you’ll have a car or van out on the road or perhaps even a fleet of them. Here’s where vehicle signwriting can really work to advertise your company to a wider audience. Whether it be simple cad cut graphics or a more eye catching digital design, vehicle signwriting works 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.

For example. Think about all the places you’ve driven to and from this week. Imagine how many people you’ve driven by or how many cars you’ve been past. All these people are potential customers and they would have seen your company name and even perhaps had a chance to see what services you provide, all be it fleetingly.

This is where a well designed vehicle graphic design and good marketing strategy can really get your business noticed. Adverts, shop fronts, signage, printing and websites, all working to promote your company. Add a van with vehicle signwriting and potential local customers will soon start to notice you.

At BEL Signs we provide a high quality vehicle signwriting service to local businesses here in Horsham and around Sussex. We’ve produced designs for all types of vehicles from vans and cars to lorries and even motorbikes. This has been for a broad range of business types including:

  • Trades such as Builder, electricians, decorators, plasterers & plumbers
  • Delivery companies, Taxis and mini bus operators
  • Shops and retailers such as florists, laundry services, food outlets & builders merchants
  • Schools, colleges & clubs
  • Service providers such as dog walkers, hairdressers, beauticians, IT repairs & motor parts suppliers

In fact, any trade that uses a vehicle can benefit for vehicle signage. Contact us at BEL Signs to see how we can transform your car or van into a mobile advert for your business. Telephone 01403 255442 or click here to send us an email.
